SEC announces 2013 football schedule: Gators get Arkansas at home, keep Miami game
The SEC released its upcoming football schedule this afternoon. While most of the opponents were already known, there were a few question marks.
Will Miami stay on the schedule? Yes, the Gatorsa area headed to South Florida in Week 2.
Seven teams on the schedule were solid, due to the divisional play and LSU series. Who is the eighth team? Arkansas at home on Oct. 5.
Will the Gators have to visit Missouri in frigid November? No. Florida travels there Oct. 19.
Will the Georgia and Tennessee games stay in their traditional places? Yes. Plus, the Gators get a bye prior to each of those games.
Here is Florida’s 2013 schedule:
Aug. 31 — Toledo Sept. 7 — at Miami Sept. 14 — OFF Sept. 21 — Tennessee Sept. 28 — at Kentucky Oct. 5 — Arkansas Oct. 12 — at LSU Oct. 19 — at Missouri Oct. 26 — OFF Nov. 2 — vs. Georgia in Jacksonville Nov. 9 — Vanderbilt Nov. 16 — at South Carolina Nov. 23 — Georgia Southern Nov. 30 — Florida State
The last time the Gators had two bye weeks was 2008. The last time they played Arkansas was 2009.
Florida has never played at Missouri. This year will be the first time the teams have played since the 1965 Sugar Bowl.
